Twins Can Be Identical, But These Twins Go Farther
In 1985, among all the children born that year, Anna and Lucy DeCinque came into the world one minute apart from each other. And from that point on very little was different; they were identical twins. The DeCinque girls today are known as the world’s most identical twins, part of which is due to their own doing. However, they share more than looks; the women purposefully share almost every aspect of their lives with each other, literally.
Anna and Lucy were born and raised in Perth, Australia. While they quickly became a problem telling them apart for babysitters, teachers, friends and everyone else, their parents knew them from day one. It also helped that Lucy had a small mole on her cheek and her sister had a different scar on the forehead.
As they grew into teenagers, however, their slight facial differences was not noticed very well by their boyfriends. And that allowed the sisters to get into some serious mischief. The girls cooked up an idea between the two to make things more interesting when a relationship got boring.
Starting in early teenhood, Anna and Lucy between to trade off their boyfriends to see how they “measured” up. The teenage boys had no idea and, no surprise, didn’t pay particular attention to what was going on given their interest was elsewhere.
However, the sharing habit grew and became a unique life aspect of Lucy and Anna’s world. Becoming young adults, they tried to venture a bit to the world, but when their father go sick with cancer, they returned home to help care for him. After his passing, the two sisters realized they were good at elder care and switched to a career in senior help.
Sharing just about every aspect of their waking life, the sisters then decided to make their looks and appearance even more identical, starting one of many plastic surgeries that would make them almost impossible to tell apart. 2010 kicked of a series of body changes with breast augmention and much more after that. Photos alone show they’ve had face work, lip work, additional body work and more.
Anna and Lucy tried to have a normal social life individually, and did date different partners. But they were not satisfied after many tried in their twenties, and it didn’t fit the model the rest of their life-sharing direction had gone. Further, many of the boyfriends had real problems with how much the girls were involved with each other and couldn’t deal with the closeness.
It became really frustrating for the sisters to figure out how to meld their personal love lives together with how close they wanted to be daily. One would think their boyfriends would find some medium ground, but it continued to be a friction point that ended up cutting short every relationship each sister started. And then they met Ben. In contrast to traditional relationship behavior, the two decided to share Ben as their single boyfriend between the twins.
Interestingly, Ben himself was born a twin, so the idea of twin mentality and sharing twin lives was not a foreign topic for the fellow. Things were a bit odd at first as the three would go out on their first dates, and Ben would get commentary from other guys. People would act shocked when they realized what was going on and would chatter. However, the three got past it and continued to develop their relationship stronger and stronger.
Ben, to his own credit, has been a man’s man, devotingly making sure both sisters are well attended and cared for. As the two ladies put it, there’s no jealously because Ben makes sure both have his attention. The only question that does exist is how Ben manages to maintain his career as an electrical mechanic in the midst of everything at home.
The big challenge now is how the two sisters and Ben handle the prospect of having children. Given how much the women share everything, including the number of steps they take to burn the same calories, they clearly believe they need to be pregnant at literally the same time to maintain the same body weight, look and condition. That might be challenging given how nature tends to work on its own schedule. But the sisters are definitely thinking about the prospect of motherhood.
Unfortunately, with the Internet and their fame, Anna and Lucy got lots of negative attention as well, and that triggered a phase of serious depression about their world, their surgeries, and their life in total. They became negative and went insular about everything they had done, shared and changed to date. However, they did decide to seek medical care at the same time.
Going to the same mental health doctor who ultimately determined their situation, the sisters were diagnosed with body dysmorphic disorder. With the right medical care and treatment, the two were able to get their life back on track again with Ben and start looking forward to their combined family as well.
At the end of the day, the twins and Ben want what most people want: a happy family and future. Yes, they don’t represent a traditional couple or marriage, but in the modern world, how much of that really matters now? For Anna, Lucy and Ben, they clearly are solidly connected with each other.
For twins in general it is not uncommon for them to have a far stronger bond than regular siblings and relatives. This idea isn’t uncharted territory either; conjoined twins have historically been in relationships sharing different spouses. The bottom line is – people make things work and they’re not harming anyone else.
